For a while, I’ve been sitting with the idea of change.
Not the kind of change that happens all at once, but the kind that whispers to you over time. The kind that slowly untangles who you’ve been… and gently invites you into who you’re becoming. That’s where I’ve been — and that’s what this rebrand is all about.

If you’ve been here for a minute, you know me as the voice behind Zakiya Uncorked—a blog that started as my personal way to share wine reviews, professional tips, and reflections as a Black woman navigating the corporate world. It’s been my digital home for storytelling and sipping — equal parts career compass and wine journal.
But recently, something shifted.
I realized that I wasn’t just building a blog.
I was building a brand.
A lifestyle.
A movement.

Why I’m Rebranding
The truth is, I needed more space to tell my whole story.
I’m not just a wine lover. I’m not just a blogger. I’m a woman who is pouring into herself, pouring into others, and learning how to blend purpose with pleasure, soft living with bold moves.
And most of all—I’m a woman who is deeply inspired by legacy.
My grandmother and Mother taught me that wine is more than a drink. It’s a ritual. A way to slow down, to gather, to connect. Their strength, softness, and sense of style live in everything I create. This rebrand is a tribute to the women in my life— and to every woman who’s ever wanted more out of life but needed the permission to choose herself first.
So, What is By Zakiya?
By Zakiya is a lifestyle brand rooted in authenticity, community, and culture. It’s the elevated continuation of Zakiya Uncorked — but with a broader lens.
